Morning Lecture - "Confession of a
Type A Quilter" by Alison Bolt (Littleton,
NH)
for
a light-hearted look at a Quilter's
obsessions.

Afternoon Lecture - "Star Quilts in a
Lakota Cultural Context" by
Michele Berman (Kensington,
CT)
will explore the geography, history and
culture of the Lakota people and will
focus on the adoption, development and
use of the Morning Star Quilt
(a.k.a.
Lone Star Quilt). Michele will also be
teaching the Lone Star Quilt on Sunday,
October 23rd.

Be sure to bring your “petty cash” for
the vendors: Close to Home, Dee’s
Quilt Designs (she is from Hawaii),
Jack’s Quilting Accessories, Jo’s
Mousetrap, Pat Ferguson, Quilter’s
Haven, Quilts & Treasures, Six Gables
Designs. A new vendor to GHQG events is
Easy Piecing from Brooklyn, NY.

Art Weber of Weber’s Sharpening will be
sharpening scissors and knives. Price
is $5.00-$12.00, depending on the size.
A limit of 2 items per person will be
allowed for sharpening. He will be
parked out front in his truck so you can
drop off your scissors before the
meeting and pick them up on the way out.

There will be plenty of raffles to
enter. Beginning with a quilt designed
by NSQ member Marlene Shea and made by
NSQ members. There are various raffle
baskets too: Bath & Leisure, Coffee
Time, Christmas, Fat Quarters, Garden,
Indian Summer, Pet, Picnic, Quilting,
Scrapbooking and Tea. Fabric raffles
are available for the “fabric-holics”!
