Welcome to the Greater Hartford Quilt Guild!

We are a group that shares a strong common thread – an interest in quilt making and all the art, design, color and fabric that this encompasses. We come from different experiences but share this common thread that gathers us together. |
As a guild, we combine our talents in many community projects, learn and share through programs and workshops and go on quilt retreats.
We encourage and are inspired by each other, whether a longtime or beginner quilter.
Members enjoy the flexibility of being an independent member or joining one or more local chapters which meet monthly in surrounding towns, with their own officers, treasury, programs, charity projects, and show and tell.

SHARING DAY, SPRING LECTURE & WORKSHOP
SHARING DAY
When: Saturday, March 14, 2026 - 9:00 a.m.—12:00 noon
Where: Wethersfield Community Center, 30 Greenfield St, Wethersfield CT
Who: Hosted by Heritage Quilters of Wallingford and all GHQG members are invited.
What: Come see what other chapters have been doing all year, and bring your cash! There will be raffle baskets, a tag sale, refreshments and lots to look at. Wallingford Sew & Vac will be there for scissor and knife sharpening, and machine repair.
SPRING LECTURE
When: Saturday, March 14, 2026 - 1:00pm - 3:00pm
Where: Same place as Sharing Day, Wethersfield Community Center
Who: Hosted by Greater Hartford Quilt Guild and all members are invited. Guest lecturer is Linda Pearl from One Quilting Circle.
What: The lecture is “But I didn’t mean to Break the Rules - how to navigate copyright laws"
WORKSHOP
When: Sunday, Mar 15, 2026 - 9:00 a.m.—12 noon
Where: Same place as Sharing Day, Wethersfield Community Center
Who: Our Saturday speaker, Linda Pearl (the quilter, not the actress) will be leading the workshop.
What: Over the last several years there has been an increased interest in Modern Quilting. We have presented the piecing aspect of this but not the actual quilting process. So learn from an expert. See Basting Lines Newsletter (in MEMBERS ONLY tab for more details.
